What is D.I.G.?

D.I.G. stands for DEFINED IN GOD. Our primary goal is to provide an atmosphere where our children are able to discover who they are made to be by experiencing the living God. Through the means of discipleship, activities, and scripture, we are looking for the children at ECC to develop deep, meaningful relationships that cross the barriers of generations, with the hope these relationships will point to Christ as the hope of all life.
DISCIPLESHIP WITH PURPOSE

We believe many adults who are following Christ have the ability, through the Holy Spirit, to lead and disciple children and model for them what it looks like to have our identities foundationally placed in The LORD.
The Tables

One unique marker of D.I.G. is table interaction. With our desire to create an atmosphere where adults can disciple children, we use tables to bring about interaction and Bible understanding. We also use this time to help develop relationships between the adults and children at the tables.

What is the purpose of D.I.G.?

Our identity? That's in Jesus and the church, not stuff that fades. So, we really need to help kids build their faith on that foundation, focusing on Jesus and his church, especially through connections with Christian grown-ups and teens. The goal for D.I.G. is for children to get to know Christ and be changed by him. At D.I.G., kids and Christian adults/teens spend time together in a meaningful way, it creates strong bonds that can lead to a faith that sticks. This kind of relationship-focused approach to spiritual growth aligns wholly with what Eaton Community Church is striving to accomplish in our approach to building disciples of Jesus Christ.

DETAILS

Unlike traditional VBS, our dates for D.I.G. are spread out throughout the whole summer. Attending just one will provide an enjoyable experience and help children learn more about who God made you to be. In the same way, if all three are attended, there will be a full grasp of God's design for us and how Jesus helps us realize our identity.
